This'll sound crazy, but what if I want to open an application in a web browser tab? Not an internet application, but software installed on my computer. What if a program I'm using is so closely tied with something I'm doing online that I want to be able to open a tab in my browser that I can use not for web browsing, but as extra desktop space, so that I can switch back and forth between browsing the web and Winamp, say, or Microsoft Word just by switching tabs?
I understand that something like this would be better applied as an extension or plug-in rather than a feature that comes with the main browser, but Google Chrome is the perfect browser to have it. With the tabs at the top, the space typically occupied by the location bar can instead be made into user space.
Am I the only one who'd use something like that?
