Thread: Create MouseZoom add-on tool, please!

Exclamation Create MouseZoom add-on tool, please!

Will someone please create a MouseZoom add-on tool, like the one available for Firefox, please!
I rarely use GoogleCrome because I have to manually (either press CTRL++ two or three times or move the cursor to click the page settings and then hover over "zoom" click on "larger" and then again to page settings to zoom to larger and then again to settings to zoom to larger) zoom in on EVERY SINGLE PAGE I open or even just refresh (text/page resizes down to "too small")....
Need I ask, how annoying is that?
Firefox also retains my selected zoom level so every new or refreshed page doesn't return to "why so fricking small" size... aahhh, nice.
    Thank You wize ones.

Maybe it is simply a side effect of my mouse drivers, but if I hold the control key and use the mouse wheel, it zooms in and out just like using the CTRL+/- does. That is what you want right?

PeterR; thanks for that tip! I'd already set my font sizes larger as Sulasno suggested (though why 16pt Georgia looks like 13pt in IE/Firefox I don't know) but I was unaware of the mouse zoom.

LOL, and here I've always considered anything over 12pt as big... But 18pt? You must have a much higher res display than I.

Historically, IE & Nutscrape, going back to the 2.x versions, have never rendered the fonts sizes exactly the same. With the addition of CSS and some using point sizes and some using pixel sizing it is even worse than it used to be. Not really that big a surprise that Chrome is having to tweak it a little.

But you could always set you screen back to 800x600, that will make everything bigger. (ROFL) Except your desktop...

    OMG Thanks for that PeterR.
I only came into the Forum to suggest a mouse Zoom function be added to Chrome and found someone already wanted it so I thought I would ad my 2 cents worth as well. Seeing your post made me realise what a dumb ass I am cause I knew about this function before but forgot about it.
I would have got away with it too except I chose to thank you for your informative post.
I live in a small flat and view my PC on my Sony 42" LCD TV at 1600 X 900 whilst relaxing lazily on my lounge so some web pages appear quite small in the text department.

Nope I am happy with that CTRL + Mouse Wheel function that will do just fine. Now I have nothing to complain about with Chrome lol best go find a way to crash it out.

LOL! Don't feel to bad, I discovered the wheel zoom totally by accident in Chrome when using CTRL++ and CTRL+- to zoom in and out. Only to find that it works in IE and FF also. Apparently it is not exactly a new idea...

So maybe your T-shirt should read "I'm with Mr. Dumb Luck -->" and point to me. I have yet to run into any documentation that suggests it.

That's strange, I thought the mouse wheel zoom was common knowledge. It works with everything, even desktop icons.

Anyway, if you want to retain your zoom level in Chrome pages, there is a small application called ZoomSlave that will automatically zoom every page you open. It's very useful when you have a high-res small laptop screen like me.
