Some control over download speed would be much appreciated. Even if it's as simple as a Low/Medium/High Priority button for each download. Could even be implemented in the right-click menu for each download. That way we can actually browse when downloading a large file, and not have to use a download manager for such a simple function (like we've had to for years!).

btw, if you close Chrome, it doesn't stop your downloads. They keep going. At least in my experience.

    a) For me, downloads that are currently running are put at the bottom of the tab I started them from. If I close that tab, the download stops, forcing me to leave that tab open. Not so good. This behaviour only changes as soon as I have the download tab open. In my opinion a download should only stop if I explicitly tell it to, or if an error occurs, of course.
    b) The ability to initiate a download manually (i.e. by entering the URL of a file I want to download, something like "New download..." and letting the user enter the URL). Just ran into that problem: I know the URL of the downloadable version of a stream, but I can't start the download, because the codec plugin for that specific video format crashes as soon as I open the URL normally in a browser window/tab. I can't start a simple download manually either.
    c) One thing that would be nice, too, is if I was able to restrict Chrome to use only a specified maximum speed for downloads / browsing / both. At work I yesterday ran into the issue that I was downloading the DirectX SDK and one of my co-workers came over complaining that I used all the bandwidth (really small company). Would be a nice feature.
    d) Resuming downloads or restarting them from scratch if resuming didn't work out.

I dont know about you, but when i close teh browswer, (and by that i mean, no Chrome processes running) it cancels my download, obviously, and there is no way to restart it. without having to go back to the page where it was, and redo a new download. and i would really like for it to have an option, in the downloads tab, next to the "cancelled" download, to have a resume button.
