    Default Sidebar

How about the ability to display bookmarks & history in a sidebar. The infinitely scrolling bookmarks folder is a real PITA! I have a Samsung Q1 tablet PC and it's just about impossible to use the bookmarks as they are now!
Any device which does not use an active digitiser cant access the bookmarks because they wont scroll!!
Still a pain in normal devices though!

This is something that would either come in a later build or later as an add-on. You will have to wait a little while though.

I'm not sure how this works on tablet pc's, but if you're importing bookmarks from Firefox, the folders are saved, making it a bit less cluttered than it would normally be.

The problem on soem tablets is that the small scroll buttons to go up and down the bookmark list will not scroll unless you actually tap on the screen. On 'normal' pc's the scrolling occurs when the pointer hovers over the buttons. On some tablets, the scrolling only happens when you click the arrows. This inevitably selects the nearest bookmark to the arrow!
This is not Chrome's fault but having this type of scrollable bookmarks folder makes the browser impossible to use with some tablets!

Still great for everything else though!

Oh, that would make it hard :|

I'm sure that Google will fix this, as it might be something standing in the way of total internet domination.

    Cool

just a note for vista users. I kind of found a way to use a workaround for a chrome sidebar for bookmarks only. With chrome in a non-maximized window, create a folder on your desktop and drag all your favourite bookmarks into that folder. After doing that, drag the folder to the left side of your desktop to create a toolbar. Put the toolbar on autohide and always on top. Whenever you have a browser open, just move the mouse over to the left side of the screen and drag the desired bookmark into the browser. This works with firefox and chrome. It's not the same but it still does work

also, if you want to open a bookmark in a new tab, just drag the bookmark into the space for a new tab.

A sidebar option would be the best addition to Chrome that I can think of. I agree that the scrolling mess on the right side of the screen for "Other bookmarks" is a disaster. It's quite cumbersome.

The lack of a bookmarks sidebar is the single most irritating thing about Chrome, and is likely to drive me back to Firefox. Period.

    Fix it.

I am using Chrome for 2 hours now. There are a lot of great features, Adblock is nice, Speed is great, Foxmark (xmarks) works. But, its a pity that there is no Firefox-like bookmark sidebar. I will use Chrome for additional 2 Hours an then i switch back to Firefox. In times of widescreen there is no reason against sidebars

Is there any information about this feature to get implemented?
