    Default Ask before closing feature

Remember sometimes when you have lots of tabs open and then you accidentally hit the Close button, so the browser shuts down and you'd have to start all over again?
It's really very annoying, especially if you're browsing important stuffs or downloading stuffs.

So an option to activate a “Ask before closing” feature would be nice.
So when you hit the browser's Close button, a prompt opens up asking if you surely wanted the browser closed or not.
That way, no more accidental closings!

Yes, that would be nice. It's probably just a matter of time before we have that feature.

You can change your settings to open all the tabs as they were when you closed the browser.
Tools>Options>Basic>On startup ... select "Restore the pages that were open last"

Doc, that's definitely one solution, but a lot of people out there (like me) usually don't need previously closed tabs to be opened when Chrome closes, and we also have a nice set of websites to look at before anything else as well. A feature that chrome man suggested I think really solves this issue, and while your idea can generally suffice in some cases, I don't think it can be a permanent solution.

Agreed. It was just an option available until further development mimics previous browser capabilities.

    A tip I found elsewhere.
You can bring back a recently closed window by 'ctrl + shift +t' which is supposed to remember back about 10 windows, or the other option is 'ctrl + shift + h' which brings up your history, and from there you can get straight back to where you were.

It doesn't stop the annoyance, but it minimizes the pain.

ps: I also found that sometimes you don't need the 'shift', so just 'ctrl h' will do it.

This has been solved about a year ago, that is why the thread is so old...

Default ask before closing multiple tabs

    See this
    https://chrome.google.com/extensions...bhdlconlpikdai

It is, I believe an official Chrome extension that does exactly what you want. I found a video that had a guy telling why they didn't include this feature. It was supposed to streamline the feel. BS

Google can get it so wrong sometimes. Like their strange email system, with sents and inbox mixed together. I've been using it for a couple of months and it isn't even close to being as convenient as the old inbox / sent method I had at Yahoo. If I wasn't sick of those guys changing things all the time I would go back.

Get your act together Google! You can actually use other people's ideas. What's with the NIH? (Not invented here) factor.
