I agree, I think they will eventually have to, although it will be interesting to see how Google will implement such a complex feature of the current internet into such a simplistic, yet innovative, browser.

I guess you are, right, it would probably take away the simplicity. But then again, no one is forced to download the add-ons. If someone wants to keep the simplicity of the browser without any add-ons, then let them do it!

I'm not really sure anyone "wants" a complex browser: It just so happens that when you add a lot of new features onto a browser, it gets that way. Google wants to remove the complexity of current browsers and replace it with a cleaner, slicker, simpler, and yet still innovative new one. I don't think they are going to sacrifice that for add-ons, however important they may be.
I don't think add-ons will make things more "complex." (Unless you add the entire library of add-ons, but who on the great green earth would do that?) For instance, Firefox add-ons don't change the browser very much. They mainly just add an item to the right-click menu, or have a little button in the status bar. I'm not sure how the browser can be "complex" for just adding a few add-ons. Firefox isn't complex at all, and it has a hell of a lot of add-ons.
