This script works similar to FireFox extensions «Remove It Permanently» and «Adblock Plus: Element Hiding Helper».

As extension: adblock.crx.
I like the way it works. I suggest using XHR to send the URLs + CSS selectors to a remote database so that you can build a database of CSS selectors to hide unwanted content and so that people can use this list. Ok, that's a lot of work![]()
Without localStorage it will be too slow.
BTW, Proxomitron with PageEraser works similar.
What could be done also is the user downloading a copy of the CSS selectors to a local file (using synchronization software) on a daily basis. This way, it's always up-to-date and fast. I tried to translate the PageEraser doc using Google Translate but the result wasn't that good...Maybe there will be English docs in the future.

cool extension, thanks. any difference between using it as extension and using it as userscript?
i tried installing it but i dont know how can some one clarify it for me?
You can easily update user scripts automatically using GetRight or wget for Windows. It's more difficult with extensions for now.
Here are the instructions: http://dev.chromium.org/developers/d...s/user-scripts
