    Default Flash blocking

I'm aware there is a flash block plugin available for the dev version of Chrome, but I need to know if this merely hides the flash object or does it actually block the loading of the flash object?
Reason being that I'm on a netbook, and I've found flash to be an enormous power drain as bloated as it is, and would prefer to only have flash elements when I absolutely want them.
Chrome is far faster than firefox on a netbook and as much faster again than IE on said netbook, so it's the obvious browser of choice, I'd just like to optimize it further.

Anyone have an answer on this?

It depends what Flash blocker you are talking about.

Adblock + removes the whole flash content (therefor blocks them from loading).

    Whereas AdSweep only hides them.
