OK my favorite thing in Firefox is the ability to block unwanted ads in web pages. Can someone do it for chrome?

We need a gmail extension as well.
I give it a week, maybe less, before the Adblock Plus guys have an add-on working with Chrome. Honestly, that's the only thing holding me back from using Chrome full time right now. The web is a messy place with ads everywhere![]()
Yea I hope so. I have been using it fully right now due to the speed it has.
So this is a list of plugins that I want and need before I can use Google Chrome as my browser, as web developer I LOVE this browser, but if I can't have these tools I'm still using Firefox.
Need:
HTML Validator
MeasureIT
Firebug
Web Developer
Want:
Google Toolbar
IE Tab
Colorzilla
A solution to this for now is http://www.privoxy.org/
Took about 2 minutes to configure.
1.) Install Privoxy
2) Click on the Wrench icon in Chrome in the upper right corner
3.) Choose options>Under The Hood>Change proxy settings
4.) A windows box pops up, choose LAN settings (at least this is what it's called in Vista)
5.) Check off "Proxy settings" and in the address setting add127.0.0.1 and in the port 8118
6.) If you have the option, you can also check off "Bypass proxy for local settings"
7.) Click "Ok", close chrome and restart it. I've had ZERO ads.
Tada. Enjoy.

Just add on to your hosts file.
http://everythingisnt.com/hosts
just copy/paste, its a little outdated *updated last year* but it definitely gets all the major ads.
For the those that need a little help, your hosts file is located in \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
If you're running Vista, make sure you give Notepad admin rights when you open the hosts file
Someone PLEASE tell StumbleUpon to hurry a plugin for this browser out. I would like to give it a real test but I have been totally spoiled for browsing any other way.
