Default No offence to the community, but please read this about Google Chrome.

Google Chrome is open source, in the form of Chromium, this can be compiled well under Visual Studio 2005.

What stops you as a Developer programming you're own re-build of Chromium and calling it ChormePlus.

ChromePlus could be the all end solution to a reliably fast browser with Plug-in support.

However in order to make that happen, less hacking the released Google Chrome build, and more developement needs to be added to the Chromium source, was it not Google's intent that you may contribute to the source code? Then shall you.

You can add anything to Chromium, if you're talented you could easily start messing with the code and add your own support!

Why hack when you can contribute?

I don't know a lot about Chromium and how it works, but I'm sure Google goes through all the code being edited and makes sure it's not hacking into the browser or anything bad. If not, I'm sure Chrome would be completely messed up right now. :P

    Hey solid,

i have already had a look at the chromium source, saw it and went...nah not for me lol. At the end on the day google are still going to develop chrome and until they stop doing so we shall continue to run a resource site for it. Surely if developers to manage to sort some things out in chromium then they will be easily ported over to Chrome... who knows, only time will tell

Yes guys, but what we all seem to overlook is that developments to Chrome are contributory.

Any advancement that can make Google Chrome more powerful as a desktop app, a faster renderer or pass the Acid 3 test will of course make their way into the official google build, however contributions like Plug-in management and Download management systems are only going to appear if someone takes the code, developes a change, and submits it to Chromium.org

We could wait for Google, but we could all put our powerful programming experience into making our advancements into the Chromium source, is that not what it's there for?

    Read Chromium.org:

Join us in an open-source browser project to help move the web forward

Chromium is the open-source project behind Google Chrome. We're releasing a first look at Chromium and invite you to join us in our effort to:

Help build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the web

Create a powerful platform for developing a new generation of web applications
    Built for the open web

All of the code in the project is open source, including V8, a new JavaScript virtual machine. You can get Chromium's source code and contribute to the project.

I say carry out the work before someone else does, he who shines to add support will shine to make themselves a great name in history (before someone else does)

I can't code for my life (except Batch and create a HTML, but any one can do that at 13) but google chrome is new. it has a company backed up by hundreds of thousands of millions of pounds/dollars. they have people with loads of high class colleges etc... and they have thousands of mathematicians working for them. Its got a hell of a long way to go before they decide to create a new Google interwebs or what have you. Maybe your ChromePlus might be good, but it for sure won't have a chance against chrome in the long for the next 5 years.

cool idea though! i quite like it! XD

Even if it doesn't make it , adding Firefox Plugin support or something similar will hit the web simply announcing it.
