Default Chromecast with free 3-month Netflix offer canceled?

I have been hearing that the Chromecast purchase is no longer including the free 3-month Netflix offer.

Only Best Buy continues to show the offer. Google is no longer showing it, and this guy is saying Google's customer service stated that they are, in fact, not running the deal anymore.

Amazon is not even showing the official product page anymore. It's just a third-party page.

I bought the device right when it became available from the Google Play Store and got my 3 free months already. I was wondering how your experiences are. Have you gotten the offer yet? Are they really axing it?

I was able to get the 3-months free, but I've heard the same.

Safest bet is probably to walk into a Best Buy selling the physical product with the deal. Google's site is NOT showing the Netflix deal but I've caught places they forgot to delete mention, which might confuse people. Same with Amazon.

Until one of these companies offers an official response to the disappearance of the Netflix offer, I'd try snagging it from a local Best Buy.

Curious what others have to say though...

I ordered one online at Best Buy on 7/25 .
It showed the Netflix deal offer when I ordered it .
I think ,, and I'm hoping they will honor it ,,, And I think
some kind of code gets emailed out to apply to one's
    existing Netflix account .
I hope it goes through ,, partly because that's
why I ordered one ,,,,, along with being a Google
    Android fan over Apple .

I received the following email (excerpt) from Google Play customer service:

"Due to overwhelming demand for Chromecast devices since launch, the 3-month Netflix promotion (which was available in limited quantities) is no longer available on Google Play.

"If you ordered a Chromecast before 1pm PST on July 25, 2013, you are eligible for the Netflix promotion and will receive an email with the promo code after your device ships.

"If you purchased the device from Google Play, BestBuy.com or Amazon.com, you'll receive the promo code in an email once your device ships. If you purchased the device from a Best Buy retail store, the promo code will be printed on the receipt. "

So, I ordered one last night on Amazon. I have not yet received the email about the free Netflix months. Did I order it too late? Was the offer only available from Google Play? What's the deal? I'm terribly confused and desperate for help...

I also ordered one from Amazon. The confirmation e-mail came at 5:40 ET. I haven't received any information about the Netflix promotion, so I don't know whether or not I beat the cutoff.
