    Here here!

Amen to Ho0bers' post. Rob have you considered placing some small ads to generate enough revenue for hosting costs?

Nothing obtrusive, you know, just enough so you can easily pay the monthly bill, which will be a lot if the site keeps growing like it is.

Congratulations on building a great site.

I agree. Normally I get bitchy about ads on things like forums, but that's because they're jerks and stick them in-between posts and crap like that.

Rob, you're trying to make a living here. Once the community gets larger and stable, I think you should throw a few ads down at the bottom or something. This could be a great source of revenue for you. But for now, I think it makes sense to let the community grow without anyone feeling like the point of the community is to make Rob profit, and rather that it is to have a good community.

Also, I'd like to note that we are the largest Chrome community. There are other existing Google communities that added Chrome sections to their forums, but when it comes to Chrome dedicated communities, there are 3 or 4 completely empty forums out there aside from us.

Congrats on breaking 500 users this morning, too.

I also have contacted support to inform them of this forum as well but don't know what will happen if they will visit or what? We can hope though

Haha don't get to carried away, you'd need a LOT more growth then this (surprisingly as it may seem) to reach making a living

I've used SMF so it's fine with me, but vB has a lot more customizality if we wanted to stuff like that

Iv tried pretty much every free forum out there and i like SMF much better than the rest, at first install it kinda sucks but if you get the right plugins and a little (tiny bit) of messing with the code (very tiny bit) its really great and is much better than the rest

He already makes a living from web development, so turning even a slight profit from this only helps. I agree, it would be a ways out though.
