According to my theme downloads,

42% of all the users are using the Stable version,
8,4% of all the users are using the Beta version,
49% of all the users are using the Dev version

Note: Users= People who download my themes

Themes and now plugins are making there way it'll gain popularity. It is faster than FF or IE.

I really wonder what's the difference between the beta and the dev channel version other than what Google mentions in their site

with beta hitting version 3.x, I think Google should scrap the beta and let users select only the stable and the dev versions

Yeah, I agree on that. I don't see the point of making a channel that's half way into Chrome's latest release... and according to my stats, only 8.4% of the users are on that channel..
