    Default Chrome vs Firefox

The release of Google Chrome in my opinion is a huge slap in the face to Mozilla. Now Google is in direct competition with them. So here's what Mozilla might do:

What do you guys think? Is Mozilla justified in starting their own open source search engine to compete directly with Google??

Well, it's an open market the more competitors the better; just like when Firefox was released.

I agree that this will take a bigger chunk out of FF users than IE users but that's just because the same type of people who tried FF will be willing to try Chrome; but that's hardly Google's fault.

The MS zombies will continue to use IE and the rest will be divided among people willing to try something new, that's the only market that being competed for.

In any case look at what FF did for internet browsing, they really helped take it up a notch. Who is to say Chrome won't do the same?

When extensions are developed I think it has a good chance to survive.

I like the tabs up the top.
As for Chrome vs Firefox. Oviosuly Chrome is better, imo. But needs the plugins to stop crashing.

I don't really think that Google wants to compete against Firefox. Chrome is extremely fast and a lot more secure than any other browser out there and since it's open source, Google is hoping that other's will take what they've done and incorporate it into their own browsers. Remember, Google wants to make sure that people have a safe and good experience on the web and instead of working with other people to improve other browsers, Google just made their own and basically said here, this is how you do it, now copy/improve on what we did and make your stuff better.

This is crazy. Google Chrome. Everything that has Google on it will immediately reach even non geeks. GC will crash the non IE competition, such as FF and Opera. As FF user, i even see this as a slap in the face to Mozilla due the mutual collaboration, but well, honestly, GC without my used plugins (Passwordmaker, DownAccelerator, Foxmarks, IE Tab, and many others) is cool so far (btw, there are plugins?) Damn fast, and heavenly simple.

I really think Chrome is going to go far. Maybe it will even surpass Firefox in market share, but not for a long while. It has to come out of beta, and there need to be lots of addons and such before most people will bite. I would love for it to take down IE
