Default What NOT to do when playing with Chrome...

I thought this might be a good thread to post things to avoid doing when using Google Chrome.

And to start things off, I was looking for some way to keep my bookmarks always visible, when I discovered that by right-clicking on the "Other bookmarks" icon, there is an option to "Open all bookmarks" (and another titled "Open all bookmarks in new window"). Since I'd brought all my existing bookmarks over from MSIE, my clicking on it was a little like sticking my finger in the light socket to see what would happen... my tabs began to look like a bunch of waves on the sea, and had tabs from here to eternity.  Eventually it locked up and I had to re-open Chrome.  I'm wondering why they gave us these options?

    Indeed, a strange feature..

I'm a bit disappointed the handling of bookmarks isn't any better than in IE.

Or does google wants u to use 'their' bookmarks.. ;-)

I think that feature was designed for people like me, 10 total favorites (I know, no internet life here LOL)

I did that once on a customers computer (IT Field) and It was funny to see the little sempron hurt.

    Yes, this is somewhat funny!
FF users could be the most interested in Chrome, being more technically savy than IE users (an unaccurate generalization, I know ^______^), and technically savy users tend to have a LOT of bookmarks

Heh, I just signed up to thank you for revealing this option to me.
In FF, I have lots of bookmarks saved in folders, including a "Daily" and a "Weekly" one.
I would just hit Open all in tabs to check out my sites for the day... so thanks!

So people, it's not a strange feature, it's something I use daily

I now understand how this option is meant to be used. If I right-click on a sub-folder, it will open all bookmarks in that folder (& in any folders underneath it. So as was mentioned, you can put several bookmarks you'd always want opened, in a specific folder. Then with a simple right-click on that folder, & their all opened.
