Google Chrome's Omni-Bar is no competitor to the FF Awesome Bar as you can see by countless posts in forums across the internet. Why is this?
Is Google being Evil? Are they intentionally making a non-Awesome bar to force you to "Search" on Google instead of simply typing 2 or 3 characters in your browser? Think about it, Google makes money by serving up ads when you search. Forcing Chrome users to search instead of giving them Awesome navigation, when monetized across 70 million users no doubt adds up to a vast number of Google searches and ads served (and needless time wasted searching when FF users have simple and Awesome navigation to get where they have been).
FireFox users know that you can easily navigate to virtually every site in your history by typing just a few keystrokes and the FF Awesome Bar will deliver you the destination in instant search fashion right in your URL drop-downs. Chrome does not do this and this is short-sighted, as Google Engineers may believe that Google profits by making it harder for people to find things in the browser so they instead have to use Google to Search. But, this thinking is myopic as there are millions of FF users and IE users who would move to Chrome if only it had Awesome navigation. We love the speed of Chrome, we just can't take being forced into non-Awesome navigation so we have to use your search to get around.
Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Page, Mr. Brin, and all of Google, there are millions of us who love your browser, your company, your search, but we need awesome navigation. True, sometimes we will "search" less and you will not profit, but overall you will benefit in loyal users to your product.
Please Google, Don't Be Evil. Let Awesome Bar like navigation see the light of day in Chrome.
Respectfully,
An Awesome Horde.
