error 9 usually means there is a bad pack of the themes. In this version you need to either manually repack the themes or get the 23 themes all together in one download.

Ok thanks, Charlie. I got it working now. I just uninstalled Chrome (it reeeeally needed a fresh install), and now it appears to be working. Will try and put some more themes on it.

If you get that 23 themes download and install any others recently added it'll parse it into XChrome too. Glad to of helped.

Hmmm....I'm getting "Unable to edit default.dll due to permission denied. please ensure Chrome is closed."

1. Chrome is closed

2. I've run RegisterDlls (result: DllRegisterServer in MSCOMCTL.OCX succeeded)

3. I've rebooted

4. I'm running all of the XChrome stuff from an XChrome folder, not the 0.2.149.29 folder

5. If I rename the Chrome default.dll and replace it with another theme's default.dll, the theme changes

I'm having the same issue, tried the same steps, same results. I checked the themes folder, and it looks like it's recursively set to read only...I manually change that, but my change isn't retained when I hit 'apply'. I've tried to do it on every folder above that in the path, all the way up to 'local settings', but with those same results each time. Manually changing the default.dll works (the theme changes), but xChrome can't seem to gain access to write in that folder.

FYI, I'm running XP sp3, Chrome 0.2.149.29, and I'm running xChrome from it's own folder.

I was having this same issue, with the same OS & Chrome versions. I uninstalled Chrome, reinstalled it clean and now it's working like a charm. Great work guys! These themes are cool.

i tried to change the default theme many more times, and i downloaded this app, and change theme, all be oK, but color is change and it's don't like me(
