Video sites slow down my Chrome

When I use sites such as youtube and break. My chrome locks up for 45 - 60 secs.
It happens when I middle click a video to open in a new tab, the video is VERY slow to play, like 3FPS, and then chrome locks up when I close this tab and go back to the video list.

Anyway to fix this?

I was watching you tube yesterday without any bog downs. Not sure with break though.

Charlie, were you middle clicking videos to load in a new tab. Or just using one tab the whole time?

I usually have about 4+ tabs open doing a bounce around but it was only one you tube video not sure if that is why I had no issue?

I was having the same problem. I reinstalled the latest version of flash on my computer (even though the flash installer "doesn't know" about Chrome yet) and everything was fine and dandy.

Give that a try and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks hoober. I tried this, but it has made the situation worse for me now. I can't play flash videos in Chrome or Firefox now! It tells me I don't have the latest version installed, when I clearly do.

So confused.

Edit: Uninstalled adobe flash player, then re-installed it. It now works in FF, but not in Chrome.

Hmm, that's frustrating. I know someone said they did a manual flash install somehow, I'll do some digging to see if I can find that.

EDIT: I just remembered that I tried to do the same thing, but my flash installation gave me an error. It worked fine in firefox, but gave me version errors on pages in chrome. Make sure all of your browsers are closed, uninstall flash, reinstall flash, and then open Chrome. If you still have an issue, try rebooting.

Aside from that, I don't have any advice.
