I have the same problem; nothing loads, I keep getting the "Aw, Snap!" page. I dont have Symantec Endpoint Protection, and "--no-sandbox" did not fix the problem for me.

IE and Firefox work perfectly on this PC (I'm here aint I?), and its definitely not a network issue..; when I load a local html file from my hard drive with chrome, it shows the page for a split second and then immediately jumps to the @#$ "Aw, Snap" page!!

    Anyone else seeing this?

rami: I have browsed Chrome's help google groups and almost everyone is reporting success with the "--no-sandbox" fix.

sridhar..; thanks for your reply. I've actually been to that thread (about 15 mins ago!).

--no-sandbox is definitely not doing a thing for me.. I tried one dash (-no-sandbox), two dashes, even opened a DOS window and manually launched chrome with the --no-sandbox argument.. nothing changes.

Even if I type c:\ as the URL to browse my HD, I see my c:\ root for a split second and then it jumps to Aw,Snap.

Also, noone i've read out there seems to understand what the no sandbox argument does.. what is a sandbox and why is it stopping anything from loading? I dont think its the root cause of this issue, but it just happens to fix it (somehow) for most users.. or everyone in the world but me!

The Sandbox actually makes calls to the OS. This will generally not effect your experience unless you visit a site that requires specific info or resources from the OS.

    Thanks guys.

BTW there was some mention in other threads of access rights and admin versus non admin.. I can say this is the only account on my (home) PC so its definitely admin, but it is infested with spyware (one of the reasons I downloaded Chrome since I never have time to reformat and someone in my family will just download crap in there again).. Maybe some spyware/malware is routing browser type OS API calls through it and since it doesn't recognize Chrome's OS calls its just blocking its requests. It sounds ludicrous but my instinct tells me that its probably the reason.

Windows XP SP3, AV and Firewalls disabled.

Grab Spyware Doctor (www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/) or Bit Defender (www.bitdefender.com/).

I got into a nasty spyware issue not too long ago and made the plunge with SWD as a desperate measure and I was surprised what is actually got off my system. It 100% cleaned everything off, stuff that Ad-aware and Spy Bot couldn't and didn't even see.

FYI I have the same problem as Rami. No page loads, I get "Aw snap" despite the --no-sandbox addition.
