    Default FAQ for Chrome / Chromium

    This thread hopes to answer common questions about Chrome / Chromium that new users face and will be updated frequently;

    1. Where is Chrome installed?

    For Windows XP;
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\

    For Vista;
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Applic ation\

    For Windows 7;
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Applic ation\


    2. How do I enable extensions to run in Chrome?

    Add " --enable-extensions" without the quotes to the target, located in Chrome's shortcut properties.


    3. How do I enable userscripts so they can be used on Chrome?

    Add " --enable-user-scripts" without quotes to the target, located in Chrome's shortcut properties
    and are stored here for WinXP
    C:\Documents and Settings\lukman\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\User Scripts\



    4. How do I change channels without reinstalling Chrome?

    Download and Apply the Chrome Channel Changer 2.0. Don't forget to update Chrome!

    5. How do I manually update Chrome?

    Click on the wrench menu and click "About Google Chrome". If there is an update, you should see "An update is available." with an update button. (< Press the button to update )


    6. Where are Extensions being stored?

    For Windows XP;
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

    For Vista;

    7. How to disable Chrome from auto update?

    For Windows XP

    A. Click on Start | Run | msconfig
    click on Startup Tab and uncheck on Google Update

    B. Go to Control Panel
    Scheduled Tasks and remove or disable Google Update

    8. Where can I obtain previous versions of Chrome?
