    Default Bookmark manager not working right

    When I first installed Google Chrome, the bookmark manager seemed to work fine. Then for some reason, several months ago, I could no longer see the titles for the web pages (see attachment). I can see the icons for them but nothing is to the right of the icon. The folder view on the left works OK. It makes it very hard to move or delete web pages when you do not know what the icons represent. Any clues how to fix this. I even deleted and reinstalled Chrome, but no luck.

    What is the version of Chrome that you are running?
    Go to the Wrench and select About Google Chrome

    What is the version of Operating System that you are running?

    are your bookmarks sync to Google?

    Default Chrome version

    I am using Chrome 4.0.249.43 on Vista SP2, 32 bit. I think I tried to set up automatic sinking with the bookmarks once but it did not work; but, that was a long time ago, so I am not sure about this.

    Yes, I do; but, I do not see how that could have an effect on my bookmarks manager.

    can you check your bookmarks in Google and then try syncing them again ?

    I tried that, I disabled sync & then synced again; but no luck

    Thanks for letting me know. Let me know if you find a solution & I will do the same for you. This thread is starting to get a bit old, so I do not know if we will get much help here.

    When I open Bookmark Manager all the icons are there but there are no webpage titles or URLs beside the icons. Aside from the lack of titles, everything still seems to be functioning fine. I can move and organise the bookmarks as before.
    I haven't used the Bookmark Manager for a while so I'm not certain when it occurred. I recently synced my bookmarks between two machines and it was after this I noticed the problem. The other (synced) machine has the titles and URLs with the icons still.

    --- Problem Machine (1st Sync) ---
    Google Chrome 4.0.249.78 (Official Build 36714)
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

    --- Working Machine (2nd Sync) ---
    Google Chrome 4.0.249.78 (Official Build 36714)
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

    I posted my original inquiry quite awhile ago & still have not found a solution. If your ever find out how to fix this, please let me know & I will do the same.
