Default Chrome for Mac: displays outdated image

As part of a website update, I wanted to change the image displayed at the top of a webpage, so I created a new image file with the same name, deleted the old one from the web server, and uploaded the new one. The new image displays fine on IE, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome for Windows but Chrome for Mac still displays the old one even though I can't even find that image on the server with a different browser.

Any ideas what might be wrong? The image isn't directly hardcoded in html but is added by a Javascript if that makes a difference.
