Youtube not working at all or only opening main page

I cant seem to get youtube to work at all, its very annoying as i use it alot i had a similar error when i got the browser 7-8 months back but it seemed to fix itself after around 2-3 weeks without working.

Now ive tried to see if it was just an update or whatever again that would fix it over some time but its been like this for nearly 2 months now. I can sometimes manage to open the main page or a link, but the video will never open. I just get the loading/spinning circle in the video with no response whatsoever.

I have IE 8 and Chrome on my pc
under IE youtube works perfectly
Only have Microsoft default firewall
Nod 32 antivirus

my operating system is Windows XP Service Pack 3

iv got the same problem and have come to the same conclusions as you.
it started yesterday for me.
strange that it starts on a monday, the day when alot of updates may be rolled out to users. hmmmm, i wonder
chrome 4.0.249.89 windows vista.

the following browsers crashed in my WinXP system when trying to watch a video from YouTube;

Firefox, Safari, QTWeb and Chrome (Shockwave flash)

I have reinstalled Shockwave but have not visited YouTube since

thanks for all the respons and help. I tried uninstalling shockwave and install it again but it still wouldnt work. Afterwards i tried installing Firefox and like Explorer youtube works without problems running videos. I think as this browser is still very new, its better for me to wait some time before i use it again when its been more stable. Thanks for the help again
