Search defaults to UK URL's

I do not have the following problem in Firefox, I.E. 8.
I do have it only in Chrome.

From ANY google search box the results show U.K. links first, butg I live in the USA.

For instance if I type in Ebay in the Google search box the first link is EBAY.UK the EBAY.com link is several pages down the list!!

Like I said this happens in ALL google search forms from any google webpage.

How do I tell Chrome that I do not live in the UK and stop assuming that I am?
