Are you using a custom mouse or is it a mouse that came with your PC? If custom what brand and model?

I have this thing too. When I click SMB( Scroll Mouse Button ) and wanna scrol, I don't see this little circle with Up and Down arrows or can scroll down that fast. It work only in Fx and IE, but not here. It's really annoying, now I have to drag the scrolling bar and scroll down. -_-

I was able to scroll DOWN but not UP. This fixed it for me (IBM Wheel Mouse.)

Open up [Control Panel > Mouse > Mouse Properties > Wheel tab]
    Try either:
    1. Select "Use Microsoft Office 97 Scrolling Emulation Only" and click Apply
    - OR -
    2. Select "Enable Universal Scrolling", click Exceptions... and add Chrome to the list, click Apply

Yes! I am having this same problem... I am using an HP laptop and my mouse pad is capable of scrolling horizontally and vertically.

Problem: I can ONLY scroll DOWN and RIGHT... the scrolling UP and LEFT have been disabled by Chrome (or they don't work with Chrome...). I know they work because I never had this problem in Mozilla Firefox.

    Google -- fix this!!!

    Default Synaptics Fix?

Many of the proposed solutions I've come across seem completely inapplicable to my Synaptics touch pad.

Here are the steps I took to get scrolling working in XP pro:
I uninstalled the driver - restarted
I uninstalled the Synaptics software - restarted
I reinstalled the Synaptics software - restarted
I uninstalled the Synaptics software - restarted.

Perhaps I could have just uninstalled the software at the first go around. It seems that I'm just using a generic Microsoft PS/2 mouse driver now.

I should note that my laptop has a dedicated scroll area and apparently does not have to rely the edge detection stuff.

I'm having the same problem as mentioned above. I really hope that there will be a fix for it, as this is a deal breaker for me.

I'm using a Lenovo laptop, with a synaptic touch pad, and running xp. I can scroll down but not up again. Also, the middle button click to scroll doesn't work as it does in all other applications.

I'm not sure if it helps, but when I use the touch pad scroll, the icon changes to indicate it is scrolling. The icon appears both when I'm trying to scroll up and down, but the page only moves when I scroll down.

I'm going to have to start a scrolling master-thread in a bit here. This seems to be one of the biggest problems (or at least one of the most common) plaguing Chrome users. I'll give you an update here when I start it.
