I went to menu option and clicked on About Google Chrome and it said there was an update. I cilcked on the option to update and let it install. Then I went back to About Google Chrome and it said Google Chrome is up to date (5.0.375.86) and that was the version I had BEFORE I clicked on the option to install the update.

Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar): 5.0.375.86

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Why did it say that there was an update to install and then say that the version I had before I installed the update was the current version.
