Latest Version of Chrome i think

Chrome has stopped loading on my laptop when i click on it. this is the error message i am getting.

c:\users\AppDatta\local\chrome\application\chrome. exe is not a valid win 32 application

I have been using Chrome for ages with no trouble, this only started yesterday. Anybody any ideas.
