    Default Auto Update Problems - Reason

    Hey all,

    I have just been searching around the discussion groups on google (cool place it is) and just came across a post about auto updates. Seems a lot of people are having the issue and it's only happening to those in Vista, here's what was posted;

    My guess is that you are using Vista and you have disabled UAC. We are
    working on making on-demand updates for Chrome work when you have UAC
    disabled. Until then, you can either temporarily enable it while you update
    Chrome _or_ simply wait - since background updates still work even with UAC
    disabled.
    Best regards,
    Finnur
    hope this helps

    I was also hearing a lot about the updates not working right or not auto-updating, so glad to see this will get fixed and that there is currently a temporary solution.

    I can't autoupdate or even use the online installers on my work computer, but a guy 3 computers away can. Could it be some proxy setting or something? We're on Windows XP SP2.
