Bookmark troubles after update 0.2.149.29

My bookmarks bar won't go away after Ctrl + B or by unchecking 'Always show bookmarks bar'. Well, it doesn't work in the New tab window. As soon as I load a web page the feature works.

I wonder if this is a bug?

I run OS Vista Business and haven't changed anything since yesterday, before the Chrome update. Underneath with a web page loaded everything is fine.

Thank you, Bill. I take your word for it. I remember the first run of Chrome differently, but alas my memory isn't any more what it never was

I started the video, but after 5 minutes it was still talking suits, and I stopped. When English is not your native language most press conferences in that language are exhausting. Maybe I will watch all 52 minutes later.

I think, that if one's bookmarks bar is off by default, the empty space above the bar/underneath the omnibox in new tabs looks quite ridiculous.
