Flash locking up the system happens for me occasionally too. It always recovers eventually, or lets me close the plug-in. Games on Kongregate are a good test, they pretty much all stutter and pause or crash. I'm using a 3 year old IBM Thinkpad T42 so it could be processor load related.

It might help resolve problems if people would indicate if they are using Chrome or the nightly update Chromium...they are two very different animals and to try to resolve issues for Chrome when the other person is using Chromium just isn't going to work for anyone.

    Hi folks,

I posted this on another thread about this, but here's what I've experienced. On the 3rd, I got a BSOD, my first on my windows OS in oh, I'd say 5 or 6 years. Chrome -never- crossed my mind. So I went about trying to figure out what caused it, and ran a full set of diagnostics after checking out the event log. For whatever reason, I stopped using Chrome after that day, prob. because I was so used to firefox, and this weekend, i started using it again this time full time because of a conversation with a friend.

Then, today, pow! i got BSOD at about 2pm, I freaked out cuz I was programming at the time. Still didn't occur to me it might be Chrome, was ok for about 4 hours and about 1/2 hour ago, bam! again, BSOD. Then, it finally occured to me.. Chrome was the common denominator through these incidents. I love this browser and want to use it full time. Now, I'm scared to open it again. I don't know for sure 100% if it's Chrome, but it seems to be a common denominator in my experience with the 3 BSODs so far. Also, there seems to be a few people noticing BSODs related to recent installs of Chrome (google "Chrome Blue Screen of Death" or "Chrome BSOD").

If Google is constantly updating Chrome, I may download another copy tonight and see if it will fix.. but BSODs man.. it's been like over half a decade before I've seen one of those.

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm running it on a Sony Vaio SZ120P with XPSP3. Never had a BSOD before on it. Again, still not 100% confirmed it's Chrome's fault.. but starting to get suspicious....

    Unhappy Chrome and the mysteries..

I agree to majority of the threads in this group.. Chrome seems to be having those initial baby-step problems and issues.. in my case, in my office we have XP SP2 with Norton AV - Chrome works excellent. At home (on laptop) - i have XP SP3 with Norton AV - Chrome just refuses to start...

I have installed and uninstalled Chrome for about 4-5 times with no improvement..

may be, "beta" is God's way to tell team@google to be sure of preparations before we take off for any journey??

Just FYI, I solved my Blue Screen issues and they were not related to Chrome. It just so happened to coincide with when I started using Chrome on two separate occasions. Turned out an Microsoft Intellipoint 6.1 driver was making my computer crash each time I used SQL Server Management Studio for any amount of time. Chrome's worked great all along and is my default browser of choice.
