Default No videos playing, not just YouTube

I've been having this issue since I downloaded Chrome. While videos will play if I have just opened Chrome, after some time, no videos play, on any site. I'll get about 2 seconds of soundless video (if even that), then it stops. If I restart the video, same thing; if I slide the progress bar to later in the video, same thing.

If I close down Chrome, open it back up and proceed, the video will then play. But it's annoying to have to keep closing the browser window.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I uninstalled Flash and reinstalled the latest version hoping that would do it, but here I am trying to watch a video on IGN.com with no luck.

I like Chrome, but this is making me open up Explorer more often...

Chrome is known to hang when playing videos. It's something that should be fixed later.

You could also try installing the latest version of Chromium, as that seems to be doing a relatively good job catching major bugs.

inability to play embedded video files past 2 or 3 seconds is a big problem for me

that could definitly be a deal breaker

Indeed! I'm holding out hope that they fix this quickly. I've dealt with the annoyance for now by just opening up IE when I want to watch a video, but that's getting old, quickly.

Thanks, I'll take a look into this. So the problem will still occur in Chromium, but it will notify Google, or Chromium is preventing this bug from occurring?

Well, if you checked for Chrome to send Google stats about what's happening on your browser when installing Chrome then it's already been doing that, but I recommended Chromium because it's much more up to date on catching bugs with the browser.
