Default Why do you prefer your browser?

    Hello,

I'd like to know what specific characteristics of your browser you prefer to Opera. This is just to know, I'm not trying to influence anyone
I'm thinking about extensions, minimum configuration, good compatibility with web sites in general. Anything else?
Please list the things you dislike about Opera and the ones you like about your browser!
    Thanks,

Thanks, so you're an Opera user. OK.

    Hi calande.

Personally, I love Chrome (having tried all other browsers extensively) simply because it gives me a lot of on-screen browser space, the nav-bar search and quick thumbnails are very simple and intuitive, and of course it renders pages very quickly. I also love the resizeable text entry forms.

I did go back to Firefox briefly, and used a Chrome theme, thumbnail add-on, menu hider, etc., as well as some speed-up tweaks, and of course AdBlock. It just wasn't Chrome though! There were all sorts of minor niggles for me, like F11 full-screen having a huge blank bar at the top (waste of space), and in normal mode, the whole top-end window/address/tab-bar thing seemed far too clunky.

Chrome does it for me, though as others have said, it really needs Firefox's AdBlock porting across, or a new one writing. Being able to right-click ads and video clips, then block that one in particular, or use duffsite.com/ads/* to filter them all out is genius.

It'll be interesting to see how the 'browser wars' progress now that Firefox, for one, have started using techniques Chrome has, such as drag-drop tabs out into separate windows. I have to say, if Firefox looked exactly like Chrome in terms of a non-clunky top end, I'd be using that right now just for AdBlock. I reckon it'll take a decent and easy to use ad blocker to switch a lot more people on to Chrome. I'm not sure Google will be adding one though, as they make millions out of advertising.

Goodle won't port Adblock Plus to Chrome, obviously, it'll be developer either by the Adblock Plus team or any other developer.
    Thanks for your comment, BTW!

Personal plugins like that will have to be developed by a third party as you stated. It can be done but not sure if the right info has been released yet to do it?

It has, but the problem is that Chrome doesn't provide Content Policy like Firefox yet. So you can't block URLs.

I like chrome because I love having all of my data mined by one of the largest companies in the world with the ability to disseminate all over the world. I also like how when all of these privacy issues are discovered, google can just say - "Oops - we made a mistake."

EULA - mistake. Buzz privacy breaches - mistake. Sniffing wireless networks in Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, and the U.S. - oops, those were mistakes too. And the best part, people believe it. Seriously, it's a riot.

I also like chrome because I like to have my browser look like it was designed by the people at PlaySkool.

Then again, Firefox has more functionality, more themes, more add-on, and well, just about more of everything - but forget about that. I'd rather just keep on the google wagon and ignore the reality of what google really is. Yeah - I'll stick with chrome.

I really like chrome and its PlaySkool inteface
But you make some great points about Google the company, in the future tho it'd be great if you posted links to your points so dont just come across as a raver and others can learn.
You posted a link in your other post and I found it very interesting (hadnt heard that one), Google can make some great products but their practices are really getting crappy.

I'm an avid user of Firefox for as long as I can remember, but when it crashed and I had no time to uninstall and reinstall it, I was forced to use my Chrome for work. I was a bit pissed at first because I was used to Firefox so using Chrome for the first time, totally slowed me down. After I was done with work and finally reinstalled mozilla, I tried to test both of their speed and Chrome is indeed faster. However, I still prefer Firefox because of it has more features that are very useful for me.
