    Default Vista.. Like or Dislike?

I have seen a post by another user that disliked Vista:

    i rank vista right up there with photo$lut in overpriced/overglorified OS/programs . again, i hope you don't take my personal opinion...well...personally .
I am not against this post, I am just curious to see what opinion people have about Vista.

    So I'll start:

I think Vista was a big (and great) step from XP, mostly for the GUI.

Right once it came out, bunch of people were creating and using software/themes to imitate it's look..
At the time, I was one of them I slowed down my XP PC so much by using all the 'mods' that it wasn't even worth having XP anymore, so I got Vista. At first, since I was used to a slow PC, I was amazed with the speed and the window fade effects, the beautiful logon screen, the wallpapers, and, of course, Aero.. It was just like a wet dream in the PC world (Just kidding ).

Then after that, I got used to it, and I looked posts on blogs and forums by XP users scared of upgrading because they said that Vista was full of bugs and compatibility issues.. The only time in 2-3 years that I had compatibility issues was when I tried to install a game that came out 8 years ago.. Oh well, I can't play an old game..

Now of course I have a pretty good computer, maybe that's why it runs amazingly well and without bugs/compatibility issues.

Now for Windows 7 lovers, I guess I am with you guys too. I have the RC installed on my laptop and it also runs amazingly.. But I still think that the step between XP and Vista is allot bigger then the step between Vista and 7..

But that's my opinion. What do you guys think about Vista?

You didn't really have an option up there for me, so I chose the most appropriate one.

I don't actually hate Vista, I'm just not fond of it because it is not very stable.
Drivers were hard to locate, for an older machine like mine.

But XP can be unstable at times as well.

I was heavily disappointed in Win7. Showing many of the same quirks as Vista.

Of course it could all be my machine, but XP Pro X64, is mighty fast and a little more stable than anything else MS has had since Win2k.

But driver issues for it too, has resorted me back to plain old boring 32 bit XP Home.
Even all my linux dists, seem to hate some of my hardware.

I think a better poll would have been, 'Do you really hate IE?'
I could fill up a few paragraphs on that one.

    I didn't had a chance fiddling Vista and hence no comments;
but Windows 7 is good; it can run on my old notebook though there is no support for the old display card
    definitely boots faster than WinXP

Vista is ok, but it seems to be really unstable. Programs often go into a (Not Responding) state and crashes noticeably more frequently than XP. I may upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out.
