    Default Anti-Adblock

Isn't it wonderfully ironic everyone is clambering for an Ad block, despite the fact that without ad revenues google wouldn't exist and certainly wouldn't be able to create the world class browser we all so love.

They don't ask you to click on the ads or buy the products, just allow them to be there... I've never used ad block 'cause to be honest I don't even notice ads unless they are force java script browser hi-jackers.

In another thread people are attacking a mod for advertising his open source DVD community with one blue bit of text

cryin' out loud people... adverts pay for the stuff on the net that we love and get for free. Sure get rid of the spam and the ads that dive in and get in the way of your browsing, but a few sponsored google links or a picture in your periferal vision isn't going to kill anyone and if no one can afford to provided services because advertises can't work any more then we'll just have to pay for subscription services.

Well I see your point but my blue text link is in my sig so in a way it isn't an ad either. It is there but you aren't forced to click on it. Most people are annoyed with adverts. I even hate them on my DVD's so I edit them out to not be there on my backup copy.

Name it as you wish, but your sig is a pointer to a site who's only reason of existing, is helping people who bought their product. So for me it comes close to an add.

But i like to refer to a reply i wrote in a similar thread:
    Adblock for chrome..

So, no, i don't mind it being there, and i support ads on the internet.

Here is the thread stating if you are going to link to your site put it at least in your sig and not spam the forum.

I completely agree with razerbug on ads and what exactly they do for the web. We need to understand that while ads are of course annoying and in many ways clog up the internet, it is because of those very ads that so many features of the internet and websites are free.

    Thanks for support

Now if only we could make a gold standard for ad's so they arn't so annoying/invasive.

I 100% know what your talking about with DVD's - I don't mind them putting ad's on their as they are often for other films I might like... but I HATE the fact some times I can't fast-forward or skip to the menu etc... as I see it both the DVD player and the disc itself are my property and I will use them as I see fit I don't need some chip telling me "operation not allowed" :P

I would be COMPLETELY OK with ads if they were text ads like in gmail
