You might see a different style and look in Chromecast icons next time you use your HDMI dongle. Google has just released icons, offering a new look that seems cleaner and simpler than the previous.
As you can see in the image above, the older style depended on changing colors to the icon. When casting successfully, the Chromecast icon would be changed to a different color. This is no longer the case, the empty area in the icon’s display is now colored. This makes the icon blend better while showing you the app is, in fact, casting.
You might not see these new icons for a while, but we can be sure developers will adopt them as apps keep getting updated. While it is not mandatory to use the new design, it will be better for user experience. Some developers might still choose to keep the color changing format, but now there is a better option for most.
